A silicate block is a solid glassy product got in the result of melting quartz sand and caustic ash or tartar salt. These components are added depending on what silicate (sodium or potassium) we need to get. Sodium or potassium silicates got after agglomerating are cooled and crystallized as big uniform glassy pieces of light-blue-brown or light-green colour and they differ in content from other silicates in the smelt.
Silicate-blocks can be one-component or two-component (mixed) depending on the quantity of the salts such as sodium and potassium salts in the content.
The interest to silicate products has increased in our country recently because of common use, ecological cleanness of these materials, high fire-resistance and non-toxicity.
