Characteristics
There are state standard documents:
- for sodium silicate – GOST 13078-81 (download GOST 13078-81 .doc 137KB);
-
for potassium silicate – GOST 18958-73 (download GOST 18958-73 .doc 102KB).

According to state standard GOST 13078-81 soluble glass can be divided in three main types:
- Low-modulus with silica module of 2,3-2,8;
- Normal with silica module of 2,8-3,2;
- High-modulus with silica module of 3,2-3,6.
Sodium silicate with silica module of 2.8-3.0 and density of 1.48gram/cm3 is the most widespread.
